Meetings: quarterly (more frequent if needed).
This year the EBEA is excited to begin a new Public Relations Committee. The purpose of this committee is to share with the community what staff members do, not just inside the classroom but also outside of the classroom. While there are many negative perceptions being sent to the public about the public education and educators, we would like to use this committee to spread positive and good news about the amazing work and dedication of our teachers and educational support professionals.
Therefore, we do not want to focus on just happenings in the schools, but also on what our members do outside the school day. Many of our members do wonderful things on the weekends, after school, with their families, their friends, and other groups. One of the ways we hope to spread such positivity is by choosing a different support staff and certificated member to be highlighted each month through the EBEA Newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, The TAP and The Patch. For example; if you ran a marathon/race, volunteer at a soup kitchen, are part of a book club meeting, took an exciting trip, volunteered your time, we would love to hear about it and share it with everyone! Below is a short survey/questionnaire to tell us more about yourself but we also encourage pictures, videos, or anything else you have to share! Our amazing students are also athletes, artists, girl/boy scouts, volunteers, performers and are recognized for doing things OTHER than school, we would like to do that for our teachers as well. Nothing will be published without your permission.
I do hope you will participate in this activity by completing the short questionnaire below!
If you would like to help with the Public Relations Committee or if you have ideas you would like to share, please let me know! You can email our Public Relations chairperson Lise Noppenberger.
